Alleged DUI Hospitalizes Two Gardena Officers

On the night of Wednesday December 14, 2011 three Gardena police officers were on patrol. Two of the officers were sitting in their squad car with the lights flashing as they had just finished making a traffic stop.

During that time, around 9 p.m. a suspected drunk driver rammed into the parked squad car. A third officer was able to jump out of the way but the other two officers were hospitalized, treated, and released.

The hit occurred at the scene of an extinguished mobile home mattress fire and a few firefighters and the third officer ran after the alleged drunk driver who attempted to flee the scene.

33-year-old Los Angeles resident Javon Pryor has been arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.
