Man Faces 29 Sexual Assault Charges Involving 14 Minors

Michael Downs, a 19-year-old man from Santa Clarita is due in court January 11, 2012 as he faces 29 sexual assault charges involving 14 girls.

Downs was arrested on Thursday December 15, 2011 for allegedly committing lewd acts with aq child and unlawful sexual intercourse.

A girl came forward and reported that she was sexually assaulted by Downs.

Then after, 13 other girls came forward between the ages of 12 and 16 and claimed to have been sexually assaulted by Downs.

Downs allegedly met the victims at social events, public places, and through social networking arenas such as facebook by befriending them and gaining their trust and confidence.

The District Attorney has now filed 29 felony counts of sexual assault by the suspect against 14 different girls.

Downs may face a very long time in prison and unless he was a powerful, aggressive, and experienced defense attorney, he is likely to go to jail.
