Youth Soccer Coach Arrested For Felony Battery

Bart Allen, 47, a Simi Valley youth soccer coach, was arrested following a Labor Day evening game after he allegedly punched a 16-year-old player in the face.

Following the game between the Conejo and Antelope Valley teams, Allen was accused of running into the field and throwing some punches. The reason of why he ran onto the field was not stated and according to witness testimony, Allen hit a 16 year old player, punching him in the face, causing injuries to his nose and cheek. The 16 year old was the only one injured.

When talking to the police, the coach admitted he threw punches during the fight but did not admit to hitting any of the players.

Allen was arrested on felony charges of battery, which is a crime that involves the offensive touching of another person, and corporal injury to a child and booked in the East Valley Jail.

The coach was the only one arrested.

Battery charges are often grouped with assault. Assault and battery are violent crimes and are so serious that a conviction has the potential of resulting in up to 15 years in prison.

You better think twice before hitting somebody!
