Simi Valley police detectives arrested four suspects on May 24, 2012 for fraud. The arrests followed a six-week investigation into a Nigerian fraud ring.

Detectives discovered that the suspects allegedly possessed credit information and used the information to obtain fraudulent credit cards.

In late March 2012 a female suspect allegedly used fraudulent credit cards to obtain thousands of dollars worth of Target gift cards at a Target in Simi Valley.

Police state that known credit losses amounted to $2 million.

Detectives served a search warrant in the San Fernando Valley and one in Los Angeles near Inglewood and arrested the four suspects without incident.

Police recovered children’s clothing with tags attached, about 15 iPads, most still in boxes, and more than $100,000 cash.

Those arrested were: Mariam A. Salau, Labake Adejoke Onifade, Ajala Olasode Ajao, and Eno Monday Ekong.

The suspects were booked at the Federal Detention Center in Downtown Los Angeles.

They will face some serious federal charges that have the potential of resulting in some long term imprisonment.
