During a series of raids Wednesday across several Southern California counties, authorities arrested 11 people, seized marijuana and confiscated $20,000 in cash. The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said that search warrants were served at 16 locations in several counties in an operation to crack down on the sale of marijuana and related products. According to the Los Angeles times, 78 pounds of marijuana worth an estimated $234,000 and 4,000 packaged food products laced with the drug worth an estimated $24,ooo were found.

Under California law there are four different types of drug charges: possession, possession for sale, trafficking, and manufacturing. Depending on what the controlled substance was and the charges, it could be filed as either a misdemeanor or felony.
